In memory of Melvin Silver, 07/07/1923 - 08/10/2013

Melvin Silver, age 90 of Minneapolis, passed away August 10, 2013. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley, beloved daughter, Kathy Rochelle Silver and parents, Barney & Rebecca Silver. Survived by son, Michael; daughter, Laurie Goldfarb; grandsons, Adam and Danny Goldfarb. After graduating from Mechanic Arts in St. Paul in June 1941, Mel became a self-employed bookkeeper, creating a successful business that serviced a large clientele for over 50 years. He married Shirley on October 28, 1948. Mel enjoyed bowling and coin collecting. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

A special thanks to the loving and caring staff of 2 North at Sholom Home West. Funeral service 11 a.m. MONDAY at the UNITED HEBREW BROTHERHOOD CEMETERY, 70 ½ at Thomas Ave. So., Richfield. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Adath Jeshurun Congregation, the American Heart Association or the donor’s favorite charity. SHIVA, 7 p.m. Monday at the Sholom Home West, 3620 Phillips Parkway, St. Louis Park. ”Nakupenda Sanna” ( Swahili for “I Love You”)
